A small town girl with a big world palate

For years, my friends and family and anyone I’ve sent a novel of a text or birthday card to, has told me I was really good with words. That I should be a “writer”. Over those same years, I hosted countless gatherings and always enjoyed pouring great wine and making food to try and “Wow” my guests. So, they would tell me I should be a Chef. I was always eager to try the newest restaurant in town and give my 5 cents on it to friends and family. My heart for small, family run, passion fueled, fear the fear and do it anyway people has been a constant . 

A little more than a decade ago, after losing what I thought was my forever career working for an Engineering company for 6 years, and simultaneously going through a breakup, I went on a trip that would forever change the course of my life. For now, let’s just say that eventually lead to me packing what fit in my car and moving from my small town in Puyallup, WA to California and enrolling in Le Cordon Bleu – Culinary School. AT 25. Which at the time, felt like old-maid age. 

While my friends were taking new last names, I was taking trips to places I had never been. As they brought beautiful new life in to the world, I seeked to find a new life… out of my comfort zone, and much different than what I had grown to believe it would look like!
